From the Alps to the Caucasus

It is already 15 years that the Music Department of the Zurich University of the Arts welcomes students from Georgia for studies. For this anniversary Tamara Kordzadze organizes a project in 3 steps, with the goal to bring together talented young musicians from Switzerland and Georgia through a cultural exchange, to promote their careers, to enhance the cooperation of the Zurich University of Arts and the Tbilisi State Conservatory and to tie the necessary international contacts.

Piano Bench Project

Georgia's music schools were in bad shape. The Music Halls where regular concerts are performed were not equipped with standard piano chairs or benches. Children and young pianists used to have plain, very uncomfortable wooden chairs with no padding or possibility for adjustments. For this reason, Tamara Kordzadze organized the donation of piano chairs and benches purchased in Switzerland with the funds donated to charity concerts and transported to seven music schools and museums in Georgia.

Piano Talents

In June 2014 Tamara Kordzadze's student, Alexander Sahatci, was awarded Second Prize at the “4th International Competition Piano Talents" in Milan/Italy. Competition was attended by 110 young talents from all across the world. Alexander was the sole representative from Switzerland.

Youth Classics

Youth Classics International Music Festival and Master Classes by Tamara Kordzadze for Solo piano and chamber music at "Musikinsel Rheinau", Switzerland. A summer academy that provides solo courses, chamber music, workshops and concerts for advanced students from all around the world.
